Bellingham Beauty Blog | BOSS

Working in the beauty industry has been absolutely wonderful, it’s no secret that I love what I do and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Every once and awhile, however, I let little insecurities get to me. I see other artists who are absolutely killing it and a little voice in my head starts to whisper lies and tear into the very things I was, up until a few minutes ago, so proud of.

I see how easily someone interacts with strangers and wish I could be outgoing as them. I hear amazing things about how hard working this person is and think maybe I should step up my game. If we’re getting really honest, I see how amazing other women look and think why in the world can I not just get there?

But you know what shuts up those voices real good?

Acknowledging that this lady is amazing, she is genuinely working her tail off, treating her clients (and people in general) with respect, whether they deserve it or not. She is on top of her game. She is a BOSS. These ladies are a joy to be around, and though they may have concerns, would never bad mouth or gossip about another woman.

Ladies whose grace is in equal balance with their strength.

I’ve never been one to constantly be surrounded by a group of girls, but I am forever thankful to this seemly shallow industry for showing me what true women are made of.

The best way to end a pity party is to encourage someone else. I don’t care if they are your “competition”, someone you’re intimidated by, or someone who just seems to have the perfect life. BE HAPPY FOR HER. Surround yourself with women who will challenge you when you’ve stalled, hold you up when you have lost your strength, and will gently remind you to extend grace when someone causes you pain.
